An immensely beautiful palace of Noto has been converted to greet visitors in three gorgeous suites next door to the stunning Cathedral. A total restyling has resulted in an eclectic interior style.
PALAZZO TRIGONA enjoys a leading role in the UNESCO heritage of Noto for the elegance of the late Baroque architecture, for its imposing location and for the family of the Marquis Trigona of Cannicarao.
Palazzo Trigona enduringly infuses the memory of antique and noble glories. It celebrates the reinvention of spaces that become modern, and the strength of the stone embroidered by talented architects and chiselers of the 18th century. The contemporary restyling has made excellent use of fine local craftsmanship. It creates an elegant atmosphere by juxtaposing antiques with modern paintings and photographs by local artists as well as ceramics from Caltagirone and Sciacca. If you fall in love with any of the objets d’art you behold, you’ll be pleased to know that they are available for sale.
The spaces and grandeur of the palace has inspired the makings of three suites. As well as a king size double bed all rooms have at least a sofa bed and a desk creating comfortable living.
Grand Suite “Principe Trigona”
It was one of the Prince’s favourite rooms because its terrace looks onto the Palace’s orangery, a close-up of the Cathedral’s cupola, Noto’s churches and the not so far off East Coast with Marzamemi and Capo Passero.
Its luxurious 150 square metres comfortably accommodate three sofa beds, three desks, a dining room, two bathrooms – one with bath and one with two hydro-massage showers. The terrace is furnished with comfortable armchairs and sun umbrellas.
Typical in Sicily, but unusual within a palace court orange gardens enrich the view from the balconies of this suite and its delicate scent lingers in the air.
This room is 50 sq metres and has a sofa-bed and a desk making, it more than bedroom. The impressive shower behind glass and can be closed off with a curtain.
Suite “Dei Mori”
This 60 sq metre suite takes its name from the colourful Moorish ceramic heads made in Caltagirone. This room also has a sofa-bed and a desk, and its window looks onto the streets of Noto. The impressive shower behind glass is open plan and can be closed off with a curtain.
