Augusta is in a strategic position, only a 10 minute drive to the charming fishing village of Brucoli and 30 minutes from Siracusa. The Nature Reserve of Vendicari is one hour away.

Brucoli is set within a natural bay protected from winds and currents making it a favourite mooring for motorboats and sailing boats. It  is a small friendly fishing village where boat owners and visitors head to for “granita”, newspapers, aperitifs and dinner.

The beach “Pineta of Gelsomineto” is situated just  2 km from Fontane Bianche and 5 km from Avola in the Municipility of Avola. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the south east coast Sicily. A yet unspoiled hidden gem with a clean crystalline sea and fine white sand, it is so called because a species of jasmine grows amongst the Pine Forest that is located directly on the edge of the beach.

Behind the more well-known beaches of Cefalù, stands the imposing mountain chain of the Madonie with some of the highest peaks in Sicily, after Mount Etna. Snow tipped between December and February it even offers a small ski resort on Pizzo Carbonara and Piano Battaglia 1,979 metres high.

The seven Aeolian Islands are of volcanic formation and they rise from the Tyrrhenian sea. Their history dates back thousands of years and is rich with mythological legends. Vulcano, Lipari and Salina are the largest islands. Filicudi and Alicudi are the smallest ones with Panarea.
